Jackie Carpenter, B.S.

Adjunct Professor of Art Education

Jackie Carpenter brings a wide range of visual arts teaching practice to the Division of Art + Design. Holding a degree in Pre K through 12 Art Education she gives the undergraduates in her classes first-hand knowledge of her past experiences in diverse educational settings: from community art centers to formal educational settings both public and private, preschool to adult. Adding to her experience teaching in the US, she also contributes expertise she gained from teaching multiple years overseas.

While teaching at Indiana Wesleyan University her students have participated in professional growth and development experiences at the Indiana Art Educators Association annual convention, and locally have organized and facilitated Family Art Nights at Kendall Elementary school. Dozens of her former students are now teaching as full-time art educators nation-wide, putting into practice comprehensive contemporary visual arts education.
