Dallas Walters, M.F.A.
Professor of Photography (Retired)
Born in Leon, Iowa Prof. Walters remains a Hawkeye and small town boy in heart. Married Debra Jimmerson in 1974. His early career involved studio and commercial photography. Moved to Des Moines in 1979 and completed a MA degree from Iowa State University. Relocated to Peoria, Illinois in 1994 to pursue an MFA in photography from Bradley University. Hired by IWU in 1999 as an Assistant Professor of Art. Interests involve fine art photography, woodworking, exploring the United States, and motorcycling.
Prof. Walters' primary interest is in the integration of the visual image (photography) and the third dimension as evidenced in mixed media outcomes. The concepts of time and time marking as related to reality and the futility of the process continues to provide a creative challenge that perhaps borders on hyperreality.
